Preview Your New Home Theater Before It’s Built
After a home renovation project, the last thing anyone wants to experience is the nagging regret that the design is not quite right. When it comes to installing a private home theater, there are several variables to establish before completion. For instance, what size screen is right for the room? How far away should the seats be? And where should the projector be placed?
Fusion AV, Pickens, SC’s expert in home theater design, is now using ModusVR to help customers see their theater project before development begins. Rather than try to visualize a design in a flat floorplan, ModusVR creates a three-dimensional space so you can experience the home theater of your dreams. But what is ModusVR, and how does it improve the design process? Continue reading to discover more here!
What Is ModusVR?
ModusVR, a product that debuted at CEDIA 2018, is a new virtual reality program that allows users to recreate spaces in real-time before construction begins. We can measure your room and enter dimensions to build a virtual home theater model, adding in unique angles, windows, and doors for a realistic display. We then style-match the wall colors, artwork, and floor to accurately test materials for your private cinema. The program can calculate sight-lines on a per-seat basis to indicate if any seat has an obstructed view of your future projector screen. This way, your home theater will be flawlessly designed for every seat in the house.
How Does It Help Home Theater Design?
After we have assembled your virtual home theater, you can take a look through a headset and make adjustments instantly. We won’t have to tell you your screen choice is too big or too small—we’ll show you so you can experience it for yourself. ModusVR will help us determine the height of your projector, how many seats will fit, where speakers should be placed, and even how a foosball table, ping pong table, or club chair will look. The program also includes the ability to create non-rectangular rooms with the 2D floor plan editor, so curved rooms can be modeled, too.
