AV ELECTRICIAN
Job Description
Works independently and with other team members as a licensed electrician for Residential and Commercial projects with confidence and professionalism. This position is responsible for timely completion of daily procedures and project documentation. This individual should have a passion for AV technology and industry trends.
Job Responsibilities
- Installs, tests and maintains electrical systems in compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Installs new distribution panels, outlets, fixtures and switches.
- Performs maintenance on motors, controls, lighting systems, generators and other related components.
- Troubleshoots complex electrical issues to identify root cause of problems.
- Develops strategies for efficient use of Fusion resources to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Evaluates existing electrical equipment and circuits to determine safety standards adherence.
- Pulls wiring, cables, and grounds through cable trays and conduits.
- Applies knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Reads blueprints, schematics, diagrams, technical drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
- Replaces defective circuit breakers, fuses, switches, outlets, and other components.
- Inspects and tests electrical systems and components to locate defects and malfunctions.
- Connects wiring to power equipment and lighting fixtures with job-related hand tools.
- Installs and maintains electrical systems in accordance with NEC standards and codes.
- Installs and wires lighting control panels.
- Installs lighting fixtures.
- Understands centralized lighting systems.
- Understands and performs basic AV Technician functions such cable terminations, TV mounting and speaker installation.
- Provides Project Manager with daily project status updates and maintain project documentation on a daily basis.
- Completes Fusion required training and certifications.
- Adheres to and maintains Fusion quality standards.
Job Requirements
- Licensed electrician to operate in both NC and SC. NC Limited Electrical Contracting License preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Detail oriented and organized; multi-tasker.
- Self-motivated, task driven, and able to apply “best practices” theory.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work 4/10 schedule.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to travel overnight for training and installations as needed.
- Clean background check.
- Maintains valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Proficiency using hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work on ladders and lifts at high elevations.
