Luxury Smart Home Integration in the Blue Ridge Mountains

About This Project

Fusion integrated smart home technology into this home from the ground up, working alongside Fairview Builders and Villa Verona Design to ensure every system supported the architectural and design intent rather than competing with it.

Whole-home audio and video distribution is powered by AVPro Edge and managed through Control4, giving the family seamless access to entertainment and environmental control in every room. Sony displays provide consistent visuals throughout the interior, and two Samsung Terrace TVs bring the experience outdoors to the pool and cabana. A dedicated home theater, Full Swing golf simulator, and integrated Luma surveillance and Qolsys security complete a system built around how this family actually lives.

Challenge

Balancing performance with shifting design priorities was the central challenge throughout the project. Theater speaker locations had to be reengineered after artwork was installed over the originals, with Anthem Room Correction (ARC®) used to preserve acoustic performance. Control4 panels were relocated after late-stage design changes. The golf simulator platform was reconfigured mid-project when seating dimensions shifted. A keeping room TV was added as a retrofit after move-in, requiring careful work in a finished, painted space.

On the infrastructure side, a conduit to the cabana was found damaged and encased in concrete, requiring a full reroute and rewire. The home's remote location also created internet limitations during installation, prompting a shift to Control4 Halo remotes for stable local control.

The Full Swing golf simulator was purpose-built around the family's passion for the game. Outside, Samsung Terrace TVs create a resort-style entertainment zone at the pool and cabana.

Luma surveillance integrates with Control4 so the family can view live camera feeds from any TV in the home. Simple, practical, and seamless.
