Technology Built Into the Design
Overview
The homeowners preferred to control the house from their mobile devices. Fusion designed the Control4 system around that preference, bringing audio, lighting, climate, security, surveillance, gate access, and garage doors together while limiting the home to three touch panels. They can make adjustments from their phones rather than return to a wall panel.
Entertainment was planned around several distinct spaces. The private theater provides a dedicated place for movie nights. Ambisonic outdoor audio brings music to multiple patios and gathering areas. In the formal living room, a Sony television, custom Leon Media Frame, and matching soundbar provide everyday entertainment in an installation that complements the room’s architecture.
Challenge
Providing outdoor sound without disrupting completed construction required a change in approach. Existing hardscape blocked the planned wire path for landscape speakers. Fusion redesigned the Ambisonic layout with discreet soffit-mounted speakers, maintaining coverage across the outdoor spaces without disturbing finished surfaces.
Inside, the fireplace construction prevented the living room television from being lowered to the preferred viewing height. Fusion used a custom Leon Media Frame and flush-mounted soundbar to integrate the installation with its surroundings. In the theater, technicians hand-cut acoustic panels to fit around the in-wall speakers, preserving the room’s finished appearance and sound performance.
As the homeowners added systems during construction, Fusion coordinated with Stoneledge Builders to accommodate the expanding scope. Careful planning around a delay to the custom Leon frame also kept the project on track for an important family event: the homeowners’ FIFA World Cup watch party.
Project Standouts
Reliable Wi-Fi matters throughout a property like this, from working in an office to streaming music on the patio. Seventeen wireless access points provide coverage across the house and outdoor living areas, supporting entertainment, surveillance, and everyday control.
That infrastructure was integrated with the same care as the entertainment systems. Speakers, wireless access points, surveillance devices, and control hardware were concealed within the architecture wherever possible. Even the dedicated dog room includes audio and surveillance, allowing the homeowners to check on their dogs through the connected system.
The homeowners have the entertainment and control they wanted throughout the property, with fewer wall panels and equipment carefully integrated into their home.
